EXPEDITION ITINERARY
DAY 01: TIMIKA ARRIVAL
You are expected to arrive at the airport of Mosez Kilangin in the morning, and then go to hotel in Timika to stay overnight. This is a free time to take a long rest and re-check your equipment.
DAY 02: TIMIKA
After breakfast, we will check your climbing gear and the Expedition Manager will explain the climbing plan. You will also have a chance to shop for any personal supplies you might be missing, and our LO/Helper will be with you. (B)
DAY 03: TIMIKA – YELLOW VALLEY BASE CAMP
With chartered Chopper, we will fly directly to Yellow Valley, Carstensz Base Camp (4300 m asl). Upon arrival at Base Camp, we can take a rest. Flying time of Helicopter from Timika to Yellow Valley return is about 1 hour. If we depart at dawn in a very clear weather, we can make 3 departures to Yellow Valley. In the afternoon the weather will be too hazy and it will cut off the range of visibility of the pilot. Each departure only able to carry maximum 3 passengers. DAY 04: YELLOW VALLEY BASE CAMP
We spend today getting used to the altitude and acclimatizing with a short hike aroud basecamp, climbing equipment practice an briefing for the summit day. (B,L,D)
DAY 05: SUMMIT DAY (4884 asl – CARSTENSZ PYRAMID)
Wake up at 1.30 am. Take breakfast and prepare for climbing equipment. At about 2am start to reach the summit. After summit, return to base camp and staovernight. Normal time to rea ch the summit is about 6 – 8 hours. (B,L,D)
DAY 06: CONTINGENCY DAYS
DAY 09: YELLOW VALLEY BASE CAMP – TIMIKA
Out from Yellow Valley Base Camp, we fly back to Timika by helicopter, accommodation will be provided at hotel in Timika. Recovery time and free program. (B)
DAY 10: TIMIKA DEPARTURE
After breakfast, we will be transferred to Mosez Kilangen Airport, Timika. END OF EXPEDITION
